A Professional: Does your own notion differ from mine?

A professional is one whose expertise in a given venture is rated far above the average. More so, efficient  and reliable are the qualities that are associated with a professional.
It is becoming even more obvious to me that the personality of a professional is continually eluding many of us in the areas we call our own.
Many times, i have come across people who claim to be professionals but whose very own actions leave people depressed and frustrated everywhere they go. I have fallen victim a number of times and i am almost certain that at one time or another, we all have.
Those of us who are accustomed to meeting and dealing with handymen, managers and others who are best known to engage in 'trial and error practices' on a day to day basis, can rightly agree that professionals are hard to find, especially in a society where people follow the money trail. I do not have a problem with those who desire to break new grounds but I am constantly at odds with the ones who lie their way into getting paid for complicating issues with their lack of actual knowhow in certain things.
It so happens that some who engage these none professionals are themselves without as little as the basic knowledge of that which they engage these set of people for, in which case, it is easier to get rubbed blind. I can recommend here that we ask questions relating to problems and make wide consultations before deciding on who to hire.
Professionals almost always tower above others in their field, and are constantly sort after by people from near and away for the simple, yet significant reason, that they can deliver within a certain time frame. And even when the services of these professionals are expensive, people usually take solace in the assurance that it is worth it.
So, in that which you do, can you honesty say that you are good at it? I may not be in a position to say if you would lie in response, but i can bet my top naira that those who have had dealings with you can answer that for me.
You see, being the professional is a rare skill. Still there are many so-called experts today, breaking from the norms that makes professionals. Help me decide whether you would rather encourage this trend by your silence or inaction.
